The Capitol Heights Civic Association held its regular meeting on March 14th, 2006 at the Capitol heights United Methodist Church. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM.
There were two guest speakers for the evening. Sharon Massey of the American Heart Association shared information on the American Heart Association and the upcoming Heart Walk. Jason Powell of Petals from the Past discussed the topic of Cottage Gardening.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached to these minutes.
Minutes for the February meeting were approved as read.
Installation of the storage shed on the Church ground has started. The Association was asked by the Board of Adjustments to hide the building from
the street view.
Discussion occurred regarding the Neighborhood Plan. Linda Wool has
reported to Bob Knapp that “some progress” has been made regarding the
rails to trails section of the Plan and the median on Madison section of the plan.
Efforts have also progressed regarding enhancements to Mt. Miegs Road. This initiative is also included in our neighborhood plan. Terry Robinson is working to obtain a transportation enhancement grant for the area. Terry is coordinating this work effort with state and city officials and with Highland Park neighborhood association.
Cindy Keeping and Lisa Knapp are chairing the Spring Fling Event which is
scheduled for Saturday April 22nd, 2006.
A motion to have no guest speaker at our next association meeting was
adopted.
A motion to adjourn was adopted. The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 PM.
