Minutes Regular Meeting October 11, 2005

The Capitol Heights Civic Association held its regular meeting on October
11, 2005 at the Capitol Heights United Methodist Church.  The meeting was
called to order at 7:05 p. m. by Bob Knapp, President.

Guest speaker for the evening was Mayor Bobby Bright.  The mayor opened the
floor to questions and much of this evening’s time was spent on this Q&A
session.

New members of the association and first time attendees of the association
meeting were recognized and welcomed.

The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached to these minutes.

Minutes for July and August meetings were approved as read.

Tim Vaught, Chairman of our Parks and Green Space committee reported that
Capitol heights received the grant for trees applied for in July.  190 of
the trees already have a designated site for planting.  There are also
plans to plant some of the trees at the Capitol Heights School.

Cindy Keeping and Bradley Bailey volunteered to co-chair the Christmas
Parade Committee.

Rebecca Williams, Chairperson for Capitol Heights Christmas activities,
shared a list of homes already on the tour and asked for additional
volunteers to help with Christmas activities.

Lynn Bryan announced the Capitol heights Angels will help to put siding on
the home recently presented at the Architectural Review Board (ARB).  A
decision on whether or not to approve installation of aluminum siding had
been postponed by the ARB.

A motion to adjourn was adopted.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:19 p. m.
