CAPITOL HEIGHTS CIVIC ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING
May 9, 2006

The Capitol Heights Civic Association held its regular meeting on May 9, 2006, at the Capitol Heights United Methodist Church. The meeting was called to order at 7:11 p. m. by Bob Knapp, President.

New members of the association and first time attendees of the association meeting were recognized and welcomed.

The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached to these minutes.

The minutes for the April meeting were approved as read.

Cindy Keeping and Terry Robinson recently met with Mayor Bobby Bright regarding improvements needed for Armstrong Park and improvements needed for Mt. Miegs Road. Each provided an update to the members present.

Lisa Knapp reported that the Spring Fling was a success and thanked everyone that helped with the event.

Bob Knapp reported the shed is basically finished other than some minor items that remain to be done.

Paul Rawlinson removed his name as candidate for the office of Vice President. A motion was made and accepted to close nominations for the office of the President.

Cindy Keeping removed her name as candidate for the office of Vice President. A motion was made and accepted to close nominations for the office of the Vice President.

A motion was made and accepted to close nominations for the office of the Treasurer.

A motion was made and accepted to close nominations for the office of the Secretary.

Nominations for the following persons were made and accepted as additional nominees for the office of Members At Large: Marilyn Rutherford, Cindy Keeping, Paul Rawlinson, and Glenn Donaldson. A motion was made and accepted to close nominations for the office of the President.

After checking the roles to verify all candidates as having paid dues for the year of 2006-2007, Glenn Donaldson’s name was removed from the ballot. Mr. Donaldson was not present to rectify the situation.

Ballots were counted and the following persons were elected to the Executive Committee of the Capitol Heights Civic Association:

A motion to adjourn was adopted. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
